Stock Island is built as a lightweight Mac utility. It does not require an account, and your watchlist and display preferences are stored locally on your Mac.

Scope
This policy explains how Stock Island for macOS and the stock-island.com website handle information. It applies to the current App Store version of the app and this website.
Information stored on your Mac
Stock Island stores your watchlist, selected market, display mode, language, color convention, selected companion, enabled data sources, and related settings locally on your Mac. A short-lived market-symbol cache may also be stored locally to improve search. This information is not uploaded to a Stock Island server.
Information Stock Island does not collect
The app has no Stock Island account system or developer-operated backend. We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, precise location, payment-card details, advertising identifier, browsing history, or portfolio holdings through the app. We do not use the app or website for cross-app tracking, targeted advertising, or the sale of personal information.
Market data requests
To search for instruments and retrieve quotes, the app connects directly from your Mac to third-party market data services. Depending on the market you enable, these may include Tencent Finance, Binance, and NAVER Finance. A request may reveal your IP address, the requested symbol or trading pair, request time, and standard network metadata to that provider. Stock Island does not intentionally attach an account identifier or advertising identifier to these requests.

Website and hosting
This website stores only your language choice in your browser. It does not use behavioral analytics or advertising trackers. The site is delivered and protected by Cloudflare, which may process IP addresses, request headers, timestamps, security events, and essential cookies or tokens under its own policy. Support communications
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any diagnostic details or screenshots you choose to provide. We use them only to respond, investigate the issue, maintain necessary support records, and comply with applicable law.
Purchases
Mac App Store purchases, billing, and eligible refunds are processed by Apple. Stock Island does not receive your full payment-card details. Apple handles purchase information under its own terms and privacy policy. Apple Privacy Policy.
Retention and deletion
Local app information remains on your Mac until you change or remove it. You can remove watchlist items and change settings in the app. To erase all locally stored Stock Island data, remove the app and its local app data; contact us if you need instructions. Website language data can be cleared through your browser. Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, recordkeeping, or legal obligations. Third-party providers apply their own retention rules.
Your choices and rights
You may disable individual market data sources in the app, remove tracked symbols, clear website storage, or stop using the app. Because Stock Island does not maintain an account or server-side profile, we generally do not hold app account data to access, correct, or delete. Security and international processing
Network requests use encrypted connections where supported by the destination service, and the app is distributed with the macOS App Sandbox enabled. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Third-party providers may process information in countries or regions other than your own under their policies and applicable law.
Children
Stock Island is a general-audience finance utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has provided information through a support email, contact us so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, market data providers, website services, or legal requirements change. The revision date at the top of this page will show the latest update.
